- Theater in Russia has always been the second university, department and Germany of the democratic and liberal views of the Russian intelligentsia and ordinary people.
It seems to me that the theater should not drop this flag of the struggle for freedom, for sincerity, for decency, for honesty and service to those ideals that may never be realized, but, nevertheless, one must strive for them!
Modern theater has nothing to do with feelings and strives only to entertain the audience and nothing more. Once it arises, of course, it is possible, but there must be something in it that you can think about or feel... Here the theater gives the ideal in the name of which it was created and exists!
