Ivan Bukin, a Russian figure skating duo with an inspiring journey, has made his mark on the international stage through dedication and perseverance. Born on September 16, 1993, in Moscow, Ivan's path began at a young age as the son of Olympic champion Andrei Bukin. From the moment he stepped onto the ice, he was determined to pursue dancing on it. At just five years old, Ivan started training under the guidance of future Olympic gold medalist Elena Ilyukhina, who later became his partner until 2008.
The dynamic pair quickly rose to prominence, earning bronze medals at the Russian adult championships in 2015, which marked their entry into international competition. Their breakthrough came during the European Championships in Sweden where they claimed third place by delivering flawless performances. However, their debut at the World Championships in China proved challenging. A fall during the short program left them ranked 14th overall, yet they managed to secure seventh place in the free dance segment.
By 2019 and 2022, Ivan and his partner had become one step away from victory at the European Championships in Minsk and Tallinn. In Belarus capital city, they narrowly missed out on gold against French rivals Vanessa James and Morgan Sipprelle, while in Estonia, they faced off against Anastasia Mishkina and Alexander Galliamov, two fellow Russians. Despite these close calls, Ivan's determination shone through, leading him to achieve sixth place at the Winter Olympics in Beijing 2022, solidifying his legacy in the world of competitive skating.
Throughout his career, Ivan earned numerous accolades including silver medals at the European Championships in both 2019 and 2022, along with multiple bronze placements from 2015 to 2020. His junior achievements were equally impressivewinning the Junior Grand Prix Final in 2012 and claiming the title at the World Junior Championships in 2013. Additionally, Ivan secured first place in the Russian junior championship in 2014. These milestones underscored his remarkable talent and unwavering commitment to excellence within the sport.

Родился 16 сентября 1993 года в Москве. Сын олимпийского чемпиона Андрея Букина начал заниматься фигурным катанием в 5-летнем возрасте. Иван сразу определил для себя, что будет выступать в танцах на льду. До 2008 года его партнершей была будущая олимпийская чемпионка Елена Ильиных, затем - Александра Степанова. В 2015 году пара вышла на международный уровень, завоевав бронзу на «взрослом» чемпионате России. Это позволило Степановой и Букину выступить на чемпионате Европы в Швеции. Здесь дуэт чисто откатал обе программы и по сумме баллов занял третье место. Дебют на чемпионате мира в Китае сложился менее успешно - во время короткой программы из-за падения партнерши пара оказалась на 14 месте. В произвольном танце Степанова и Букин стали седьмыми, а по общей сумме балов заняли девятое место. На чемпионатах Европы в Минске-2019 и Таллине-2022 российский дуэт дважды останавливался в шаге от золота. В столице Белоруссии Степанова и Букин уступили французской паре Ванесса Джеймс - Морган Сипре, а в столице Эстонии соотечественникам - Анастасии Мишиной и Александру Галлямову. На Играх-2022 в Пекине россияне заняли шестое место.
