Dmitriy Kleshtov was born on January 21st, 1971 in Moscow. He's a left defender who came from the youth academy of Moscow "Smena." Almost all his awards were won while playing for the Moscow "Spurtak" between 1989 and 2000, with one more season in 2002.
Kleshtov played three matches for the Olympic team of the USSR and the CIS national teams. From 1992 to 2002, he represented the Russian national team, making 49 appearances over that time.
He was among the players who signed the famous "Letter of Fourteen," demanding that Pavl Sadyrin be removed from leading the Russian national team. Because of this, he didn't go to the World Cup in 1994.
After leaving Spurtak, Kleshtov continued his career at lower league clubs and later joined amateur teams. His achievements include being seven-time champion of Russia (19922000), winner of the Soviet Union Cup (1992), three-time Russian Cup winner (1994, 1998, 2003), and holder of the Champions' Cup of the Commonwealth (1993).

Родился 21 января 1971 года в Москве. Дмитрий Хлестов - левый защитник, воспитанник московской «Смены». Практически все свои награды завоевал, выступая за московский «Спартак» (1989-2000, 2002). Хлестов по три матча отыграл за олимпийскую сборную СССР и сборную СНГ. В период с 1992 по 2002 год выступал за сборную России, за которую провел в итоге 49 матчей. Был одним из футболистов, подписавших знаменитое «Письмо четырнадцати» с требованием отстранить от руководства сборной России Павла Садырина. Из-за этого не поехал на чемпионат мира-1994. После ухода из «Спартака» Хлестов выступал за клубы низших лиг, а затем за любительские команды.
